4/25/2011

Hey everyone,
Happy Easter to yall as well :-) thanks! Mine was really good.  My week was pretty good. We got transfer calls yesterday. I'm going to a town called Helper, in the Price/Manti Zone to be a Zone Leader. I'm pretty excited. That's an awesome growing opportunity. SO, I reckon any letters should probably be sent through the mission home for a while.
This week has been full of lots of highs and lots of lows. We've had some really good lessons with some really good investigators, then we had some we had to drop. That is the WORST. I HATE dropping people. It' so hard when you want it for them so bad but you just can't get them to put forth effort to increase their faith. I've still been studying the doctrine of Christ (Faith, Repentance, Etc) cause I still don't feel like I completely understand it, and its been exciting to discover new views and insights about it. I've decided in part that its more than just teaching people Faith, repentance, baptism, etc.. Sure those are the steps but the essence of it, is that it's how we become "saved". It's how we progress, it's the way our Heavenly Father has provided for us to return to him. That is what we gotta help people understand. There's so many little nooks and crannies of the plan that are fantastically significant, but we've been instructed to really work on the essence of the doctrine, not just the words. How it applies to them individually. Christ's infinite atonement and the very spirit of it. That's when the Spirit can testify. "Brief, powerful statements" (PMG.) that clearly let the spirit direct through you. I LOVE the doctrine of Christ. It never gets old.  I'm sure that's common knowledge among all of you haha but that was my "duh" moment. It's common knowledge, but it's not usable till its personal.
I Love this place. I love the people here. I'm sad to be leaving cause I feel like I'm leaving home again, but it's all good. Elder Ireland keeps telling me, " You know you've been in one place too long when you know every person in town by their car."  I beg to differ!! >:/ It just means you're home :) I'm excited to be going though. There's so much to be learned! Since I've started packing I've discovered two huge things.
One: I have accumulated WAY to much stuff here.
Two: Vacuum bags (you know, the ones that will make a big blanket look like a slice of cheese) are THE greatest invention ever.  :)
I love yall very very much. Thank you for all the prayers and letters <3
