January 31, 2011

Hey everyone,
Wheeewwyyyy what a weekend. It's been so so good though. But first things first. I have developed a burning, thriving, deep, unconditional testimony of the power of cough dropsJ  Those things have saved my LIFE this week. I've been fghting a cold and a sore throat all week and for those of you who don't know, I would rather lick the underside of a port-a-potty toilet seat than have a sore throat. I HATE them. And I've always hated cough drops, but I finally manned up and used them and oh man! They're awesome! Saved. My. Life. Anyways, about the weekend:

On saturday we were blessed to have several baptisms (5 to be exact) which kept us at the Stake Center from like, 10-5.   It was so so good.  It never gets old feeling that unique spirit which attends those wonderful services.

But then, on Sunday: We got up at 6:30, showered, ate, etc.  At 8:30 when we went and spoke in the 3rd Ward.  Then we went to their Sunday School followed by the 5th Ward's Sacrament Meeting.  At 12:30 we split and I went over to Elsinore for a confirmation and Elder Harlan went to the 4th Ward for three confirmations. As SOON as those were over and we took the Sacrament,  we hurried back to the Stake Center, met each other, walked in the door, walked in the chapel & I walked straight up to the pulpit and started speaking! That was hard to do. It's really hard to collect your thoughts. So we spoke there, went to Annabella 2nd and taught a class right afterwards and then luckily went to the Browns for a bite to eat. I met Bro Hantchet at the StakeCenter at 5:10pm  and we went back to Annabella for a baptism preview I was speaking at while Elder Harlan practiced with the youth choir for the fireside. As soon as the preview was over we got back to the Stake Center and we had our Missionary Fireside at 7:00.       Oh man :) It was awesome. We filled the chapel and gym out to between the three pont line and half court. Talk about fun :-) It went really, really well. It got recorded so I'll send a copy of it to Mom & Dad.

We got transfer calls last night too and Elder Harlan is goin to St. George West.  I'm stayin here and my new companion’s name is elder prater? Prader? Something like that.  Harlan knows him and said he's cool though so Im not worried.  I'm pretty excited.  Mom asked if I was gonna be a senior comp. now.  I got called to be the new District Leader. I got certified to drive on Thursday so I'll be the senior comp. and driver. But yeah, This weekend has been crazy. I know I say it a lot, but I’ve never been so happy and so exhausted in my life.  I crawled in bed last night and was OUT! Its crazy.  We gotta go to a party someone is throwin for Elder Harlan.
 Love you guys.

****Also, last night Mom and Dad received a phone call from a lady in Jeremy's mission who has called us several times to keep us updated on him. She just could not say enough great things about him! She got choked up several times talking about what an inspiration he is and how strong his testimony is. She told us repeatedly that we should be proud because he is working SO HARD and doing such great work! He talks about his friends and family from home a lot, and has shared several stories about each of us with investigators and members there in Monroe. She said it's obvious he comes from a great family full of love, otherwise he wouldn't have such a burning love for the people on his mission! It was so awesome to hear from her!!!****
