Oct 17, 2011

Wow. Wow guys. Thanks for trunking me out of my mind with hunting stories.. :) I'm not sure if they'll let us back into this library after all the noise i made when i read those baha that's so awesome! My heart started to beat a little faster when i was readin them cause i could totaly picture them happening. Man oh man, i love our family ^_^

Yaaayyyy happy one year mark..! ... Not. Ha so depressing. Sigh oh well. It has its pros and cons i reckon. I'm excited though, i feel like i'm the best i've been and i'm excited to see how much more the Lord will teach me in 368 days. Humility, gratitude, soberness and change. Hopefully i'll be meek and humble enough to be worthy of the trials he lets me learn from and that i can endure them well. We'll see! :)

I don't have enough time to respond to all of your email but thank you thank you thank you for writing me so much. I love it. I love hearing about how everything is going at home and the things everyone is learning. It seems like lately i've been overwhelmed with a desire to soak up everything, To learn more and more and more and i like knowing what yall are learning too!

I love the question you posed about being able to represent the Lord's true church well. I'm gonna borrow that if that's alright? That has alot of potential to get alot of people moving.

So a few updates then a quick story:
-I love elder Hawkins. He's the best and we get along great and
-I'm so excited for our zone! We just had transfers and there were alot of changes and alot of new missionaries and new areas and such but notwithstanding all of that the zone's numbers look the best they ever have. We have some great elders and sisters and i'm excited to be a part of it.

-The "theme" or goal for our zone this month/transfer is based off D&C 121 45-46 "Let virtue garnish thy thought".. Etc  If we want to better our actions and ourselves, we have to better our thoughts. Thoughts are things endowed with bodies and the spirit cannot dwell fully in a vessel who constantly has negative thoughts or whos attitude is bad or who focuses on things other than what they need to. We have to let those things go and be better. And so i would encourage everybody to take up their cross by more fully keeping our thoughts virtueous and letting go of those old, wornout habits that hinder us. We can do it :) We have to. We have to be better.

Ok, sigh, "funny" story.
Shoe polish. oooohhhh how i hate shoe polish. I had a can of black "kiwi" shoe polish which had become all broken up and hard to use and it was frustrating me so in my frustration i quickly thought of a way to fix the situation. Many of you are probly thinking of the same solution i came up with. I melted it. The melting process went great! I good lighter and about 7 mins and i was set. Until i spilled ALL of it down the front of my white shirt. Sigh All i could do at that point was laugh and call elder booher in to take pictures and I said ok, fine, i'll just trash that shirt and not worry about it. I cleaned up the mess and got on with my life... Until i washed that shirt with ALL my other white clothes. Now clearly i have a little more common sense then to think that would be a good idea and it was a complete accident that it ended up in there but it did none the less. Now i have one short with a big stain, and about 8 shirts with little black marks aaallll over them ha So mom, i went and bought a couple new ones and our landlord (bless her heart) has some soap that gets it out if you scrub each mark individualy (kill me) so i'm gonna do that for the rest of them. And since it's my one year mark, i'm gonna burn the shirt with the big stain. I'll take pictures. (and send them next week)

This southern boy and the aussie are gonna tear it up. I love you,
 Elder Spurlin
