"So my schedule goes like this. 6:30 wake up, shower and what-not, 7:30 breakfast (typically). After that we have class till lunch at 11:30, then we go back to class (of companion study) till supper at 4:30. Then it's usually more class till 9, 9:30 we have companion planning/prayer/whatever needs addressed, shower, exercises, then lights out by 10:30. Classes are NOTHING like seminary. All we do is teach the whole time pretty much. We hardly ever discuss doctrine. It's such a good way to learn.
Funny Story:
So the first night, apparently I'm time zone ignorant, cause I set the time zone wrong on my alarm clock (which we were all using) and long story short, we were all up and showered by 5:30 AM. It was hilarious. We all got a kick out of it.
One of my roommates screams in his sleep which is kinda weird. It just gives me a good excuse to hit him though. :) Just kidding."
"I'm studying about the Spirit was hard right now. We have about 6 hours of study time a day so I definitely have plenty of time. I think the biggest thing I've learned is that obedience is key. The Holy Ghost is a gift. We have to receive it, and in large part, that's done by obedience. We can't have that companionship if we aren't trying our hardest. It's the coolest thing ever the have the Holy Ghost manifest itself to an investigator through you. :)
I got to experience that the other day while we were teaching. It was funny cause we got to teach someone Tuesday and iiiiiit sucked. It was terrible. haha! But, we learned from it and on Thursday when we taught again the investigator totally felt the Spirit. That's our whole purpose to talking to people is to help them feel the Spirit and come closer to Christ, so it was cool to see that happen. Will you tell the Mission Prep class something for me? Tell them to study all the doctrine of the Gospel they can before they come. Cause you don't study it much here. And also, Preach My Gospel. That, you do study, everyday. It's amazing. I promise you if you study that, the Holy Ghost will be even stronger with you than it already is. Start and end with prayer and your minds will be opened. (I'm a representative of Christ right now, and I can promise you things like that!)"
My Purpose:
Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
