November 15, 2010

Wheeeewy. I got alot to tell everyone! How's it goin? I'm good. I'm just gonna start from the biginning ha

My flight was good. We got up at 2:30, made it to the airport by 6 then flew on a prop plane (that thing was crazy ha) down to st. George. We had breakfast there and interviews with the Mission president and what not then went over to the stake center for some trainin stuff. That was good. We got assigned our companions there. My companions name is elder harlan, he's from West Virginia and he's awesome. He sings country music (like, profesionaly) and is crazy good.Needless to say we have a guitar in our apartment lol It's fun.
We sing at all the stake and ward things.
We stay in the basement/apartment of a members house. We have a kitchen and laundry room and everything so that's nice.

We are over an entire stake haha TEN WARDS! how crazy is that? I'm still tryin to wrap my head around it. So like on sunday, we attended 3 different sacrament meetings and then taught the rest of the day. It's crazy.
We eat great mom. We have meals every single day. I haven't spent a dime on food yet. Everyone buys it for us.

We're in a place called monroe. It's pretty small but i love it. It and the three surrounding cities are BEAUTIFUL. All it is is a bunch of hard workin farmers, open land and big trucks. And EVERYBODY hunts :D :D :D I already got several mule deer and elk hunts set up if i ever want them after my mission ^_^

I kept track the other day and in the space of about an hour i saw 99 trucks and 34 cars/suv's. So like i said, lots of trucks. They always have mud on them too haha It kinda sucks though cause that just makes me want to get home and get one! This place really reminds me alot of home. Which also is unfortunate cause i miss it like CRAZY. The first couple of days were ROUGH. I think the only bad thing about bein in smallish towns is that everything is spread out so you have lots of quiet time ridin in the car (we have a car) to think. That's tryin to kick my butt ha But i'm kickin right back so it's all good. I'll survive.

I got to try moose yesterday. It was good. A guy we're teaching also gave us some elk burger we're gonna cook up one night. I'm excited. For study time the other mornin we went up by one of the mountains and watched for elk while we studied. We stayed for about 20 mins then got back to the house cause it was FREEZIN haha Anyways, The work is good, the people are great and I miss you guys like crazy.
                                            Love,
                                                   Elder spurlin.
